Blog:South Carolina Healthy Connections Kids

Cartoon of a familyHave you noticed the red square on the right side of our web pages? It's the link to another program called Healthy Connections Kids. While Healthy Connections Choices is for people who have Medicaid, Healthy Connections Kids is for families who may have more income but do not have health insurance for their children. The program provides health coverage for uninsured children (up to age 19) in South Carolina.

To see if your child or children qualify, check out the chart on our website. If you meet the income levels, call our call center to ask for an application packet.

If you qualify for coverage, you will get your health services from a health plan and you can choose a doctor from the plan's list of doctors. The doctor you choose will become your son's or daughter's primary care physician and will help to make sure they get the health care they need.

We are here to make sure every child in South Carolina gets great health care and a promising start! If your family is over the income limit for Healthy Connections Choices, your child may still qualify for Healthy Connections Kids. Call our call center to find out.

If you are not sure about whether your child will qualify for Healthy Connections Kids, we are happy to help you figure it out. The child must be less than 19 years old, and your family must meet the income limit.
